Early in the pandemic, leaders at hospitals and skilled nursing centers helped each other to learn and quickly adapt to changes brought on by the COVID-19 virus. By collaborating and sharing best practices on issues such as quarantine protocols, transfers, bed availability, PPE supply, and staffing, healthcare organizations came together to form partnerships that saved lives. This causal conversation will further the discussion on continuing these partnerships in our shared responsibility to provide quality care to those in need across all healthcare settings.

2020 and 2021 have presented many challenges for our industry, including the unknown and unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. Our representatives at the American Health Care Association / National Center for Assisted Living, have been steadfastly advocating for our sector.  As the challenges continue, AHCA/NCAL will continue to be there for us.

In addition to helping our sector through the COVID-19 Pandemic, many other issues AHCA/NCAL continue to advocate and guide us on include, PDPM and payment rules, Provider Relief Funds, and inclusion of our sector in the infrastructure bill.  All of this while working toward a fairer regulatory system, fixing Medicaid underfunding, and addressing healthcare workforce concerns.
